Where can I kayak in central Florida and not have to worry about alligators or sharks?

Nowhere; saltwater = sharks & freshwater = alligators. I do not live in Florida but travel there frequently and I’m an avid kayaker. But these types of attacks are very rare and the only difference in kayaking Florida vs home is that I don’t dangle my legs in the water or off the side of the boat.

There’s only been one kayaker injured/killed by a shark or alligator anywhere in the U.S. in recent years, and he was fishing while dangling his feet off the sides of his kayak. (Oahu, 2013) Google ‘kayak shark attacks’ for example and you’ll find that even when a large tiger or bull shark hits …
